The League of Friends of the Kent & Canterbury Hospital
The League of Friends (the League) of the Kent & Canterbury Hospital (K&CH) raises funds to buy a wide range of gifts, equipment and other items to benefit patients attending the hospital as well as visitors and the staff. In total, since it was established in 1953, it has raised over £9 million for the hospital. In addition, the League, mainly through its many volunteers, provides a range of other services including the running of three highly valued hospital shops and a daily ward trolley round. We are very proud that the achievements of the League were formally recognised in 2015 when we were presented with the prestigious Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the MBE equivalent for the voluntary and charitable sectors.
WE’RE LAUNCHING A ONCE-IN-A-GENERATION APPEAL - THE EAST KENT CANCER RADIOTHERAPY TREATMENT APPEAL - TO BRING SURFACE GUIDED RADIOTHERAPY (SGRT) TO CANTERBURY. THIS ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY WILL SIGNIFICANTLY TRANSFORM HOW RADIOTHERAPY IS DELIVERED.
