The generosity of patients, their relatives and friends and the general public means that donations and legacies are another important source of income for the League of Friends and in 2015 £20,000 was raised in this way. However, there can be quite large year-on-year variations in this type of income, especially legacies. Thus the League received just £4,000 in legacy income in 2015 which was less than 3 percent of the amount (£150,000) obtained in the previous year.
Making a donation to the League is very simple and if you would like to do so, please click here. Alternatively, if you would like to learn more about how you could leave a legacy gift to the League in your will, please click here.
Gifts to the Kent & Canterbury Hospital
The great success that the League of Friends has achieved in raising funds has enabled it to provide a very large number of gifts to the hospital. In 2015, approximately £110,000 worth of equipment and other items was given to the hospital – these are listed in the table below which also reveals just how varied these gifts can be, not only in type but in value as well. But irrespective of these variations, each item will have been requested by the ward or department in question because of the great benefit it would bring to patients and staff.
